Visitor facilities to support a castle tour and hospitality experience project at Brackloon Castle, Co. Galway has been developed through Fáilte Ireland’s Regenerative Tourism and Placemaking Scheme, which is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union, through the EU Just Transition Fund.

Project Description
The project proposes to develop a building adjacent to castle to house an archive room and toilet facilities (EU JTF Category 1) and an accommodation project (under separate EU JTF Category 2). When the accommodation is not in use, a partition can be removed to join both building elements to form one space for events. This project will enhance tourism and community development regionally through increased visitor numbers, longer term stays, unique authentic immersive experiences and interpretation of local built, natural and cultural heritage.
